The 2013 mistake: a resident app with no system behind it
How would Yandex Taxi work if drivers received orders not through the app but on a piece of paper once a day, or by phone from an operator?
Badly. Or it wouldn't work at all. That is an unscalable setup with big costs to keep it running.
This often happens at management companies. The first thing we do is create trendy apps for residents, stop there and consider ourselves convenient and modern.
Under the hood there are still the same pieces of paper, or calls from the dispatch desk to the plumber. Tasks get lost and are done sloppily, there is no reporting, and the resident, even after tapping the buttons in the management company's beautiful app, gets no joy from the interaction.
We made this mistake in 2013, when we built a resident app for the iPhone. The plumbers and electricians didn't have iPhones. In a year we received 100–150 requests from residents, which were processed by hand, and we shut the project down.
Now we have corrected it. The first version of the app for our Liga team is already in the store. Housemasters have their tasks at hand. Nothing gets lost. A person learns about a new task the moment it appears.
The app works even in a basement with no signal.
Preparations to export Liga to cities of a million people are in full swing
Thanks to MyStand and Michael Bogdanov for a great thing) Misha, shall we keep going?) When are we going to tell everyone how artificial intelligence is changing housing services?
